The ARC Advisory Group, a leading industry analyst firm, has issued an extensive report on Intergraph 2010, our annual global user conference. The conference was Aug. 30-Sept. 2, and its content is consistently rated as one of the best for process, power, and marine industry professionals.
More than 800 PP&M professionals from 35 countries attended Intergraph 2010. Of the 100 sessions developed for the PP&M industries, several focused on how Intergraph’s rules-based solutions can assist in increasing safety in the engineering enterprise.
ARC analysts Tom Fiske and Russ Novak, who attended Intergraph 2010, report:
"With regards to new developments, ARC feels that the increasing deployment of Intergraph rules-based technology will provide users with significant benefits. The incorporation of rules-based technology facilitates engineering and regulatory compliance and improves design quality, productivity, and safety."
For example, rules-based design capabilities in SmartPlant 3D and SmartMarine 3D can help design better, safer plants and marine structures by incorporating safety rules and considerations into the design system. Rules-based design and continuous interference checking can act as a “watch dog” by flagging hazards and proposing solutions. Download the archive of this recent GetSmart! Webinar Series event to learn more about rules-based design and its impact on safety.
